Update Your Anti-Virus Software Regularly
Almost all anti-virus software these days will attempt to automatically update, however on occasion they may fail due to a software glitch or a previous virus infection. Be aware of update notifications and prompts for your anti-virus software, and if you notice an “out-of-date” warning address it immediately. If you find your anti-virus software continuously fails to update contact your Guardian Tech to resolve the issue immediately.

Update Windows Regularly
Microsoft is constantly releasing updates to improve security and patch flaws. An outdated Windows system is dramatically more vulnerable to threats than an updated version. To ensure you have the latest version use Windows Automatic Update feature (Windows XP, Vista, & Windows 7). To enable Automatic Updates open the Windows Security Center by going to Start-Control Panel – Security Center. If Automatic Updates are not enabled select Turn on Automatic Updates (see image). -
Update Your Internet Browser
Whether you use Firefix, Internet Explorer or Google’s Chrome, always be sure to use the latest version. When prompted to update your browser go ahead. It;’s typically a very easy process and it w ill ensure you have the latest, most secure version. If you feel you are not using the latest version you can manually check for browser updates by.
